While making stops in Des Moines today, I popped in at Dee Zee to hear directly from employees about the most important issues to them – primarily keeping good paying jobs here in our community. For more than 45 years, Dee Zee has been building tough, reliable truck accessories to keep Iowa moving. In Congress, I’ll keep fighting to promote hands-on training opportunities, like apprenticeships and training programs, so that Iowans can keep building things right here in our community!
We also discussed the state of our economy – no one is immune to the high cost of living these days. In fact, the inflation caused by the Biden-Harris Administration’s policies has cost Iowans an extra $26,000 in the past two years. That’s insane!
In Congress, I’ve led the charge to rein in out-of-control spending and get our budget in check. The Democrats’ tax-and-spend policies only drive up the deficit and inflation – which is why the very first bill I introduced was to require the federal government to balance its budget, just like Iowa families, farmers, and small businesses do.
Bottom Line: I’ll keep putting Iowa families first with commonsense policies.
