Farm income is down more than 20% over the past decade. Meanwhile, producers across Iowa are flying blind—uncertain if they’ll be able to turn a profit when harvest comes.
Why it matters: Iowa farmers don’t just feed the world, our producers and biofuel innovators are ready to lead the charge towards American energy independence. From aviation fuel to electric power, Iowa is driving clean, renewable solutions that can secure our future.Â
But that leadership takes market certainty to drive informed decisions, which is why we fought to deliver stronger market access, expanded tax credits, and a modernized farm safety net in the bill President Trump just signed into law.Â
Back in May, I highlighted the importance of these wins during a House Agriculture Committee markup. Now they’re law, and the benefits for Iowa agriculture are real.

Here’s a recap of key wins we delivered:
✅ Long-term tax incentives for low-carbon biofuels
✅ Clean Fuel Credit extended through 2029
✅ $500 million for biofuel infrastructure
✅ Higher reference prices for corn, soybeans, and other key crops
✅ Strengthened crop insurance and conservation tools
✅ New opportunities to grow Iowa-led energy technologies
Bottom line: This isn’t about left or right. It’s about the future. Iowa producers don’t want a handout, they want a fair shot to deliver for our farms, families, and the next generation. Our bill gives them the tools to grow, innovate, and lead the future of American energy.
