Two years ago today, Hamas terrorists launched the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust — murdering nearly 1,200 innocent Israelis and taking 251 men, women, and children hostage as prisoners.Â
Where we stand: Since that horrific day, more than half of the hostages have been brought home. But 48 remain in captivity — including 20 children — still waiting to be reunited with their families.Â
Thanks to bold leadership from President Trump, the U.S. is again standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel and working with our Arab partners to bring every last hostage home — and to secure a lasting peace in the region.
Back up: Earlier this year, I traveled to the Middle East and saw firsthand what Israelis face each day — rockets flying overhead, communities living under constant threat. Despite unimaginable trauma and loss, Israel’s people remain resilient, united, and steadfast in their mission to defend their nation, rescue the hostages, and bring this war to a just end.Â

Bottom Line: As President Trump pursues a Middle East peace agreement, we stand united in remembering October 7, praying for the survivors and hostages, and reaffirming our unwavering commitment to Israel’s security, freedom, and future.
