💊 Stop Outsourcing Our Medicine

When an Iowa family goes to fill a prescription, they shouldn’t have to wonder whether it’ll be on the shelf or if they can afford it. But right now, China is gaining control over how many of those medicines are made, putting both the cost and supply at risk for Iowa families.

The problem: Nearly 90% of key ingredients for generic antibiotics come from or depend on Chinese supply chains — leaving America dangerously reliant on a foreign adversary for essential medications.

Why it matters: For families in Iowa, this affects both affordability and access. When China controls the supply, the antibiotics children need could face a shortage, and the medicine seniors depend on could spike in price with no American alternative.

I spoke during last week’s House Select Committee on the CCP hearing to expose China’s growing control over our medicine supply. ⬇️

The solution: We need to keep clinical trials in Iowa communities — not Beijing labs. That’s how we bring drug innovation and development back to the U.S. — reducing costs, securing our supply chains, and strengthening care close to home.

Bottom Line: No Iowa family should have to question whether the medicine they need will be affordable or available. I’ll keep fighting to deliver lower costs, a secure medicine supply, and the good-paying jobs that come with backing America’s innovators.
