💧 Safer Water

Earlier today, I joined Mayor Doug Elrod and Bondurant community leaders to dedicate a major new investment in the city’s future: a one-million-gallon water tower that will serve families, schools, and businesses for decades to come.

Two years ago, I heard from Mayor Elrod and community leaders about the need for a new water tower to reduce the strain on current water infrastructure.

We got to work. In Congress, I secured $2.5 million in federal support to move the project forward — because delivering for Iowa means turning local priorities into real results.

Zoom out: This isn’t just about Bondurant. Communities across Iowa face the challenge of keeping up with growth while replacing outdated and even unsafe water infrastructure.

That’s why we introduced the bipartisan Safe Water for Disadvantaged Communities Act. This commonsense fix will ensure 100% of federal lead pipe replacement funding is delivered as grants or forgivable loans to the communities that need them most.

Bottom Line: We delivered for Bondurant, and I’ll keep fighting to make sure federal investment reaches the Iowa communities that need it most — because every family deserves clean, safe water when they turn on the tap.
