Improving The Economy

For all Iowans to truly prosper, we need to have an economy where they can easily and fairly participate, so they can reap the rewards of that growth, while continuing to serve it in vital ways. The most important issues I hear from Iowan’s is ensuring stability when it comes to everyday issues like having access to a good paying job that lets them provide for their families, keeping more of their hard-earned money, and ensuring they have the same access to opportunity as anyone else. Policies out of Washington have long been designed without Iowans in mind, leaving them to face mountains of unnecessary red tape, growth stifling regulation, and a general un-level playing field.

While in Congress, one of my main priorities is to level the playing field for Iowans back home, so they can continue to participate, benefit, and provide vital services to the U.S. economy. Our small businesses make up 99% of businesses in Iowa, with many of them being rural. Unfortunately, D.C. bureaucrats have added needless regulations on our businesses.

That’s why I have introduced legislation to cut through this red tape, expand capital access for Iowan business owners, and create a more equal playing field for them to save, invest, and grow. I will never stop fighting D.C.-centric regulations that cause costly barriers for Iowans. We must get back to policies that promote a growing and thriving economy.

Finally, when it comes to strengthening the economy, we must cut taxes for Iowans. The more money that stays in our pocketbooks, the more direct investments that are made into our communities, small businesses, and economy. To get our economy back on track, I am a big proponent of finding ways to cut taxes, cut regulations, and make sure Iowan’s have access to what they need to participate in the American Dream.
